If its like my Sandpiper and probably is he had a hydraulic failure on his slides. Both slides on that side operate on hydraulics. Main slide opens first then rear slide opens. There is a manual way to close the slides, crank is in the front storage. I did have a valve failure and my main slide opened six inches before I noticed it, had to keep retracting slide with the remote control to keep it closed. We will truly never know the whole story.
