The double bunk over double bunk is what sold us on our TT. Our previous TT had small bunks but our kids outgrew them, especially for the top bunk which became impossible to access for teenager.
When we camp next week our 19-year old daughter is bringing her boyfriend, so they will both have their own double bed and be comfy.
As someone mentioned, one issue with the bunks is that they don't have their own HVAC. So when you shut the curtain for privacy, it can get either hot or cold in there, depending on the ambient temperature. Also, there are no electric outlets in the bunks, so you need to run an extension cord to another part of the TT if you need juice.
But they both have their own lights and small storage area for books, glasses, electronics, etc.
