Opinions On 2016 Nissan Titan w/5.0 Cummins Diesel?

I'd consider one before F or GM.

So reality is, MOST half tons on the road with 5 or 6 lugs, are light duty 3/4 tons. Including the almight yota tundra! and my sons 1500 checy with a 7200 gvwr. Even the other sons Toyouta Tacoma, has a gvwr just over 6000 lbs IIRC, so it is a 3/4 ton per the US DOT. Both sons trucks are licensed at 8000 lbs gvw.

I PMed Brulaz about the European " 1 tons" he saw in Europe, they go from a HD Class 2 to Class 4. Above that the Trucks start climbing the "Lorry" classification. In our Australian case from Utes/Pickups to Trucks

We have the same problem classifying US Pickup conversions here. Just go by what the manufacturer classifies it.

I measured our garage today and it is only 240" (20') long and the Nissan Titan 5.0 Cummins Clubcab is 246" long, so it won't even fit in the garage and there is no way I would buy a truck that doesn't fit in the garage. However, the new Chevy Colorado ClubCab w/2.8L Duramax with short bed is 216" long and will fit in it and it is projected to get 34-36 MPG highway. We're a GM family over here and I accumulate $1,000.00 in GM points in my CC annually, I have a friend that gets us the GM Supplier discount, and since we've leased a Chevy and Buick, we get an extra discount whenever we lease a GM vehicle. So it looks like the upcoming Chevy Colorado may be a good deal for us. I think it comes out the beginning of Jan. 2016! Bags.

I would buy one if it fit my needs.

It's ALWAYS been marketing, the "3/4 ton", etc. My '84 C20 had a 7200 GVWR(even with 8 lug wheels), my '05 2500HD was 9200, a new F250 is 10000. I beleive the Nissan XD is 8500.

It's all marketing BS. The only things that really matter are payload, axle ratings and GCWR.
