It just occurred to me that I have the same year and same model truck as the OP is looking at, but with the 8.1L.
If the cooling system can keep that fire breathing behemoth from melting down, it won't have a lick of trouble with a 6.0L. Any cooling issues will be age/mileage related, not design related.
