MPG rating in the DPF era were very close to the ratings of gas powered trucks.
I'm not suggesting that DPF trucks are bad. If I owned one I'm sure I'd be very satisfied. Nevertheless if purchasing today, 6 years later I would take advantage of hindsight and by a DEF era truck. The added bonus of the DEF trucks is the drastically improved payload ratings. I see it as a no brainer.
How in the world does DEF improve payload???
GM and Ford were first to introduce DEF in 2011. It was needed to meet stricter emissions requirements.
