My stepson stopped by Friday night. He has turned in his 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and is now driving a 2015 HD3500 DuraMax/Allison...unfortunately, crew cab versions are still scarce for the pre-production test/evaluators so he has a very nicely equipped standard cab truck. Very nice looking truck with a very nice interior...sure is quiet...test ride results coming soon...likely Thanksgiving Day.
Regards

Regards - glazierExplorer III too will order one of the new 15's. I am actually going to wait until a few runs of them hit the lots. I should have mine by late summer, early fall next year.
- tomman58ExplorerLots of good stuff in the new HD. It is also far quieter and the door have a trip;e seal so when the DW slams the door you can tell her that this one is different.
I'll wait till mid Feb to order mine although my sales guy has asked if I want to order today!
I've done many, many plant shutdowns and retools, best to wait a few weeks there are always glitches. They will solve them in the first few weeks though.
I remember when Ford brought out the new Thunderbird, it was a disaster as they couldn't make it through the water test. They leaked in water like a sieve. There were hundreds of them sitting on the plant property in Wixom Michigan waited a fix. Fix it they did. Happened all the time, lesson learned.
I love my BILs new 1500 and it drive real nice can't wait to drive my 2500HD Dmax!
Just saying, - LimogesManExplorerCongrats! Nice Christmas gift.
Post the pics when you have it in your driveway. - Need-A-VacationExplorerRandy,

I Work at the Flint Truck Asm. Plant. WE go down for changeover Dec. 20 and start production Jan. 21 , building 2015 HD'S Reg & Crew Cabs !! Slow start for first few weeks full out by end of Feb!!
How many '15's are you running now? I saw a '15 GMC crew cab yesterday morning at Dort & I69. May have been a Denali, but it went by to quick on the exit ramp!
When the dealer got my '13 in from the dealer trade, it was to late in the day to get it prepped and delivered. We stopped by to see it as I couldn't wait to find out if it was a hometown truck or not, which it is!!!! :B Thank you for a great truck! - MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerSupport Michigan and buy those new GM HDs !!!! ("FLINT, MI – Production for the General Motors’ redesigned 2014 Chevy Silverado Light-Duty line began in Mexico earlier this week, but a date for the start of the Flint-produced heavy-duty line not expected to be until january 2014.
General Motors’ best-selling U.S. vehicle began production in Silao, Mexico, and production is slated to begin in Fort Wayne, Ind after the plant is retool is complete which is not expected to be until early in 2014. Once the Fort Wayne, Ind plant retool is complete, production for 2014 Chevy Silverado light-duty line will shift to the Fort Wayne plant for U.S. and Canada builds. Then the Silao, Mexico plant will build for Mexico, Central America, and South America sales.
"Flint will produce heavy duties only, but production won’t start until 2014," said Tom Wickham, a spokesman for General Motors.)
DUH! Perry-boy, This was posted in a thread before and on 2 other forums and not by me. There's a big difference! GM's Mexico Silverado light-duty production is temporary until the Fort Wayne plant is ready. However, the Fiat owned Dodge Ram HD trucks and the Hemi engine Mexican plants are permanent and more engines are now being shifted to Mexico with the newly completed huge engine plant. Look it up!
ALL Dodge Ram HD trucks (2500 & 3500) are made in Mexico only and imported into the USA and Canada and have been for many years and are slated to be in the future. So are ALL Hemi engines that go into these Dodge Ram trucks and other Fiat owned Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. - DadoffourgirlsExplorerSome of the 1500 GM trucks are made in Mexico. Others are made in Fort Wayne, IN. The 2500 and 3500 are made in Flint, MI.
- Congrats on the new truck. I'm sure it will be a towing beast.
