I am stuck on longbeds. Try finding one of those in any a Ford or GM with crew cab, gas engine, and not a WT/Pro (Chevy/GMC) or Ford XL trim level sitting on a lot That was a tough nut even prior to this current foolishness. Lately I've been finding more than a few on lots or in the pipeline, and the dealers have come off of the added market adjustments of $5K or more. Most are only wanting "sticker". Screw that. At the same time they are seemingly back to the old standby of trying to lowball trades. All of that tells me they are starting to get the heebie jeebies when the current and future economic winds are taken into account. They've all but talked me out of a new truck and If I do pull the trigger on a GMC, or maybe a Ford, it will now be a 2024.
GM is putting the 10 speed automatic in the 2024 truck with the gas engine. There was nothing wrong with the 6 speed, except you need 10 according to many posts. I have driven 4 different HD trucks since 2020 - one gas and three diesel - and the 10 speed has been very nice. I towed the same weight (10k-18k) with the gas and 6 sp. I had no issues in Michigan. As for your long-bed crew-cab with gas engine, you will probably need to order. I am trying to decide if my 2024 will be gas or diesel.
