Just wandering If anyone has ordered one of the new F-450's, or any 2015 model Ford Superduty, whether It's 250/350, or 450?
Just ordered some for ambulance chassis for customers of mine.
They are F-450 4wd single cabs, 165" WB. - KTMscExplorerOrdered an F-350 diesel supercab 4x4 last week.
- 4x4ordExplorer IIIIf you are thinking of a F450 is it for towing an RV? I believe the F350 dually is much bettered suited for large RV use than a F450 is.

I think that was true for a few years after the '08-2010 6.4 powered models were gone. The '11 F450's maybe all the way through the '14 MY were dumbed-down abominations unworthy of the "medium duty" classification.
My understanding is that the 2015 MY will be more like the '08-'10's. Going back to 19.5 tires and beefier axles.

Here are the highlights of changes for the 15's....
- Body/interior remain pretty much the same. Exceptions are the KR and a few new color options.
- Upgraded payload for the F450 and F350, with the F450 getting new beefier u-joints, springs, steering components, stabilizer bars, and shocks.
- Standard 19.5's for the F450
- Powertrain updates: upgraded rotating assembly, high pressure fuel pump, injectors, and completely different turbo (single). Beefed up trans internals. Overall power output 440/860 and increase in fuel economy. - Garry_GayleExplorerI have a 08 F450 6.4, thinking of going to a 15 F350 towing a 38' Mobile Suites, reasons; better fuel mileage because the 450 has 4:30 gears only, F350 has 3:55, 3:73, 4:30 depending on what you plan on towing. F350 Lower insurance cost, lower registration fees (CA) F350 better daily driver than 450 (sightseeing without trailer),tire mileage on 19.5s is not that much better than regular E rated tires in comparison to cost. Handling Comparison? use your saving to upgrade the brakes on trailer to disc. JMO as a current 450 owner.
Note in tow guide that tow rating are controlled by max hitch capacity

Buying a truck that is designed to tow much more weight than what you ever intend on hauling has one major draw back and that is it will not have the right rear axle ratio for towing your load. The transmission is most efficient in 4th gear where it is closest to putting the power straight through. A f450 running at 2800 rpm in 4th gear is capable of putting over 4000 lb ft of torque to the rear axle in 4th gear at 2800 engine rpm which equates to 53 mph. So if your hauling a very heavy load the truck is designed to put full power to the pavement at 53 mph. The f350 would put that same power to the rear axle in 4th gear at 61 mph (about 3500 lb ft of torque). When cruising the F350 would run in 6th gear at a lower rpm than the f450 and save you on fuel and running quieter. If you don't need the capability of the 450 you would be happier with the 350 dually. - ksssExplorerI think for 2015 Ford should put some redesign time into those dually fenders. The 08-2010 fenders look just fine. The 2011-current look like an afterthought, much like the 90's model Dodge dually's did. A new 450 pulled up next to me the other day, and it was a good looking pickup, right up until I saw those fenders, what a train wreck.

That's what I was thinking also.
