Have your ordered truck built in the Saltillo Mexico factory. They are not bound by the USA regulations on paint and you get a much better paint job. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram that has never been parked inside or under cover. It is parked outside now for almost 10 years and the paint looks as good as the day I bought it. I wax it twice a year and wash it maybe 4 times a year.
In all these years, the only part that has failed has been the water pump. Cost me about $50 for the pump and 30 minutes with hand tools to install. I replaced the serpentine belt at that time too. Consumables; tires, wipers, etc are all easily done without a dealer either. I've got the same brake pads and they are still well over 50% remaining.
I've got the 6 speed manual and the clutch works just as good as when new as well. I carry my camper almost 100% of the mileage.
