Did this in California 5 or 6 years ago with a Saturn Vue Hybrid. It was really simple. No attorney was needed. I read in the owners manual how to initiate the Lemon Law Procedure. I called GM's customer no-service hotline and it was really unprofessional on their part. Per the Saturn Owners Manual I then contacted GM's Lemon Law Advocate which was the Better Business Bureau. Took less than 4 weeks to get a credit on a new GM product. The underlying problem was the hybrid battery had shorted out again and they had no idea when we could get a new one.
