I'm glad you went to look at it, because I had a couple of things that would have been a deal-breaker for me. The 2 slides sounds like a great idea, but you lose a LOT of outside area under the awning. If you're even remotely considering full-timing, IMHO you should have both the sofa and dinette. Since it's mostly 2 people we're talking about, I think, the large U-shaped dinette may not be the most beneficial use of space. A standard dinette may take care of everything you need.
We just made the change from our HTT to a Rockwood Ultra Lite 2604, which is now available as a 2604WS....a large added wardrobe slide in the bedroom. Of course, I'm very partial to this floorplan since we just bought one, but it has 2 swivel rockers, a sofa with an air mattress that makes into a very comfy bed should you have the need, the standard style dinette but slightly larger. I did lose some counter space from our 23SS, but just adjusting how I do things. Almost all overhead storage, and way more than I anticipated. Entertainment center in the living area easily watched from any where. Dynamite bathroom with a large linen closet and garden shower. The bedroom we have has the 2 smaller wardrobes on either side of the bed, the emergency exit window, storage overhead + a window over the bed with a hard surface rock protector outside....we've never opened it and probably never will. Exterior door in bedroom. Since it appears that the new version is the WS only, you lose a window, but gain about 12 - 14' of wardrobe - guessing at this. The queen bed is a short queen, but DH at 6'3" is fine if his feet hang over a bit. Also have underbed storage. Our bathroom and kitchen/refrig are accessible from the front/bedroom door while enroute. Naturally, I told DH that the 2604 IS THE PERFECT FLOORPLAN, and it is for us. If you're concerned about storage space, you might take a look at this at RVWholesalers. One of the colors they have available is just downright ugly....know why it's still there. But others are much more livable.
We are well within our safe towing numbers with room to spare with the 2604. Don't know the numbers on the 2604WS. We tow with a 2003 F-150 CC with factory tow.
We did a couple of longer trips in our HTT and can pack accordingly. If we wanted to, I think we could easily take extended trips in the 2604 without a problem. Doubt very seriously that we'll be full timing since we have a disabled son and it's just not feasible. Oh, also, there is plenty of room in the living area to have his wheelchair set up if he needs it and still be able to move around.
The saying "Buy your second trailer first" is good thinking if you have budget and tow vehicle for it. Good luck. Anxious to see if you spot something interesting on RVW....they're good to deal with and you'll save a bunch of money even after trip expenses to pick up. Something to consider.
