That is a beautiful TC. You absolutely made the right move. Restoring and remodeling these classics are indeed a great way to get a "great" almost one of a kind camper, without the huge price tag... however they take a TON of time and patience. I won't say that they don't take a decent chunk of money, but at least you don't have to take out a loan for 30 grand.
I currently have about $8000 in my re-do 76 Amerigo TC but it is coming out better than new and the thing is a damn tank. It has been here 40 years and the re-build will put another 80 years onto her lifespan (because my hubby is obsessive about stomping out any kind of water intrusion)
I know all campers are different but if you have any questions let me know. Our renovation was down to and including replacing all of the studs. We basically kept the fiberglass roof and ripped everything else apart. The frame and the entire exterior are re-built and now we are starting the interior. BTW... ebay is a great resource for parts...
