Your reccomendation of a dedicated heavy set of leaf springs is the most reliable way to go. I'd still add a sway bar too. Nothing like driving rock solid in cross winds and off camber curves...
If you got 35s I'll presume they are not on factory steelies or pyo's. Both OE wheels are pretty strong albeit still a little overloaded at your weight. But a lot of 8 hole aftermarket wheels are only rated to just over 3klbs. I'd check that out and see you're comfortable there. Of course going to 19.5s is the rock solid answer and will not only give you more factor of safety for full time, loaded on and off road traveling, but the tires will last a lot longer. 35" E rated tires are most all aggressive AT and MT tires which have softer tread compound than HT Load E or load G tires.
