Overweight Again....

Finally took down the old brick front steps and decided to save a few bucks and haul the bricks to the dump myself. Took out the 3rd row seat and proceeded to pile in the old bricks and concrete debris. Piled 'em up about 2/3 of the way to the headliner. Truck was sitting level in the rear so I knew I had a load in it.

Scale at the dump said 8780, or 180 lbs over GVWR. Honestly, it drove great. I know the scale was good, on the way out I was 6860, consistent with other times I've weighed the burb with just me and a full tank.

Was the most exciting thing I did today, thought I would post and give the weight police something to natter about. :B
  • IS THAT ALL!

I was at 11,xxx coming out of a scale a year or so ago in my 2000 C2500.......drove not quite right......but, I got back to job site....

I weigh in truck about 5300-5400 lbs or so. 4800 literally empty! no rack etc.

  • The real GVWR is probley ten percent above what factory says. You have to factor in lawyers.
  • Oh my gawd.

Why on Earth would you endanger the driving public by being so far over your GVWR? !

You obviously need a dually for that kind of load.
  • Please let me know what roads your taking. Your a hazard to my family and everyone on the road. Dot will nail you and if you cause a wreck with injuries you will be sued for the house....wife..... and all the kids..and probably the mother in law. :B :C
