Overweight
Well I weighed the rig today and fully loaded with Dw and I we are about 600 lbs over the GVW of the truck. Just wondering how many others are over ?

This is a brake related topic only. Many other factors come into play when exceeding GVWR. I agree though if you take your factory GVWR and add 3K you should be fine within the capabilities of your stock brakes.
Just my 2 cents though.
