Parked Travel Trailer

Hopefully this is the right spot to post... if not give me the gears!! lol

I am looking to buy a used TT. 2011 to be exact. Its a Jayco 25BHS. I am not new to trailers I have had a hybrid for 3 years now. My question is this.

The Trailer is parked in a RV park and has been for 5 years. Has not been moved at all during that time. I had a quick inspection back a few months ago and it doesn't have any noticeable leaks etc.. looks well taken care of. I am going to go back in a month or so once the weather clears to have another look. Tires/brakes etc.. plus go over a few things. The trailer is used almost all summer by a lady and her daughter. My question is what things should I look for besides the obvious. Yes it has been winterized by a local RV company every year.

    Get up on the roof and check the membrane, caulking, skylight and AC/vent cover condition. Check the condition of the slide (seals, motor, function). I'd plan to replace the tires since they are that old...all 5 of them if you are going to haul it around regularly.

    welcome to the forum Terry,
    I would have the owners hook everything back up and see that its all in proper working order.
    A 2011 trailer is not a old trailer. If it was me and I had bought the trailer the first thing I would do is replace those tires of ones of my choice especially after setting for that many years.

    X2 on above...and I wouldn't buy any RV new or used without doing a water pressure test on supply side.

    If you plan on towing it you'll need to inspect the brakes, bearings, suspension, tires and wheels plus all underneath wiring, plumbing and tanks to make sure everything is road worthy.

    Lots of good advice already from the posters above.
    Leaks past or present would be the big one.

    I will add that it will certainly need new tires...

    If you are not sure you could have a mobile RV tech give it good inspection, might cost a few bucks, but would give peace of mind.

    the wheel bearings will need repacked, tires replaced,c heck the brake light covers , make sure the appliances all work, check the roof for chalk cracks, water pump works and the toilet doesn't leak any mold in the fridge?

    Thanks all for the great responses!! I live in Canada East so weather is not the greatest at this time. The trailer is "parked" but used every summer. In the summer its hooked to a constant water supply. Everything is in working order.. appliances, air conditioning, toilet etc... I am going to do a better inspection on the roof for caulking cracks etc.. also the I am aware the bearings tires etc will need a good looking into.. I don't suspect that will stop me as I understand the consequence of a parked trailer when it comes to brakes, bearings and tires. A local RV company always winterized this for her every season. I will check on that again though... thanks for the info folks.. I'll keep you updated!!!

    If its a seasonal camper they are probably using electric instead of propane to power the fridge and water heater. One thing to check is those appliances will fire and stay fired on propane. Lack of use can cause the ignitors and flues in those appliances to corrode and become clogged with cob webs.
