Personally I like the Jethro Bodine inspired ideas. Chocks, a chain through the wheels, and a huge bull rope or length of drag chain tied to a house LOL. I am never not amazed at some of the bull that piles up on an RV board.
Here is PA you're going to be hard pressed to find a level campsite, at least in the state parks located in the Alleghenies. A combination of reg chocks and x chocks has always worked. We never woke up across the loop road or down over an embankment.
Ive also never had a bal X chock ever loosen up from tires cooling down. If a tire went flat its going to come loose, but what are the chances one will go flat on each side at the same time? Is your trailer going to pivot on the other side and jack? Worry worry worry lol. Yes Bal tells you in legalese to not use them as the primary device, but a can of Krylon also tells you you're getting cancer, and a bottle of wine tells you it has sulfites.
