Several comments seem to indicate that the parking brake is a separate entity. As far as I know, a manual parking brake activates the rear brakes and there is only one set of rear brakes.
Hey Kip, on our Frontier, the parking brake is actually a set of old fashioned looking internal drum brake shoes, "inside the hat" of the brake disc.
