I agree that a "patch job" is just that. I do not mind a PJ as long as I take the time, remove the components, prep the surfaces and make nice clean cuts of the patch material. I did just that on the intended EB preventative maintenance attempt... never ever considering that it would not stick to that darn exterior bubble flange.
To me, if a patch job is done with care, then it will be acceptable instead of the ugly remnants of that EB that did not stick.
I would like to put a new sheet of something OVER what is up there now... I do not want to cut existing roof back and then try to match the patch material with a seam. To me that is a lot more difficult of a job to do. That is why I think a large sheet of EB (if I can find one) will lay over the muck and cover it.
I realize I will want an assistant to help me on a larger sheet application.
