I had Sumitomo tires on my wife's van - they were junk. I got them for $200 for all 4, but they wore out fast, got many flats with them, and one sidewall bulged for no reason. Junk.
different levels in all brands and at <$50 tire, I would expect the bottom of the line. Even Michelin has junk models, with their name on it. Sumitomo truck tires have an excellent reputation.

  • Step up and buy quality tires!

Michelin M/S 2 set of 6 with tax 70K warranty at Discount tire $1,408.
  • El,
I was asking about new tires for my 05 dodge 2500 the other day.

my local dealer said he would go with Firestone TransForce ht, 10 ply rating tires.
he said he supplied them for the smaller vehicles at a couple of trucking companies and the local ambulance company.

all had good results, based on price and long mileage.

I currently have mich tires and they do drive and ride good, but not so good on mileage, around 35K+ is all I am gong to get safely.

my budget needs more miles for my buck.

so guess the firestones will be the tire I go with, when I replace the current tires.

might be worth a look see!
  • When I was in Patagonia I didn't see any tire manufacturer :E Just a bunch of cold and I mean cold weather and some penguins.
I've never heard of the brand but I'm sure it's a knockoff brand from China as someone stated. Surprised they didn't name them Michlen :W or something
  • Look at Samson or Summitomo for a reasonable cost tire that will hold up.
  • I'm as cheap as anyone :B, but cheap tires are rarely a good investment unless you're selling or trading soon after.
  • Made in China by Nankang (I believe) Word on the Ford forum is that they are a Michelin tread copy and that they wear out pretty fast. I just put tires on my old dually and I payed less than that. I put Chinese tires on it, but my dually sees very few highway miles.
