When I shop for an RV I go into dealer ships and look at what they have. I hesitate talking price or even asking them about price. If I see what I want I don't get exited. Most RVs have a MSRP or list price on a sheet in the RV. From dealer to dealer you can get an idea about price and how much you want to discount that price. Don't show any emotion. In fact I point out all the bad items about the RV I may like. I do my homework. If I have a trade in I have them look at it. I want to be personable so they will remember me and that they looked at my trade in. I give them my business card with phone number and e-mail address. (e-mail address is my junk address not my personal e-mail address. Week or so later I call them and talk to the sales person I spoke to and gave my business card. I make an offer on the phone. Tell them if they are interested give me a call because I have a couple of other units that I am also interested in. You are not a captive customer they can pressure. They will either accept your offer or refuse it. Maybe they will call you back with a counter offer. Maybe not. If they call me back with a counter offer I ask them if I can have 24 hours to think it over because I have another unit I have to look at first. Works for me. Do not let them become in control because you just cannot live with that particular RV.
If you are captive at their office they can wear you down and consume a lot of your time. JMHO.
