It sounds good. I'm interested in learning what the cost will be and it would be nice if the shelf life was greater than the 18 months regular Blue DEF provides.
Shelf life? Fill at the truck stop $2.99 a gallon and always fresh, refill as needed.
That you get at the pump is never completely fresh. They just pour the new into the tank on top of the old and it all gets diluted. The old just keeps getting more diluted each time but never completely goes away. So you end up with multiple ages of DEF all mixed together.

The legally required MSDS says the contents are water and Urea (31-32%) period no secret stuff which would not have to be detailed but would have to be listed some way. As for synthethic Urea, it's all synthethic I doubt anyone is extracting urea from cow urine for example.
Exactly!!! it HAS to be 31-32. You can't just willy nilly add something to it or it would not be DEF anymore. agesilaus wrote:

Correct... I don't think they use urine to make this
MSDS for motor oils don't tell the entire story either!- agesilausExplorer IIIThe legally required MSDS says the contents are water and Urea (31-32%) period no secret stuff which would not have to be detailed but would have to be listed some way. Huh, interesting but how does this stuff prevent the deposits? No added ingredients the only thing I can think of is that it may be high purity DEF if impurities are causing the deposit. If that were the case I suspect they would brag about their "ULtra Pure DEF" and they do not.
Also odd that there isn't a hit on google. OK solved that one search for "SCR deposits" and you'll get a large number of hits. But all of them seem to be theoretical papers in the science/engineering literature. Not a one that I saw from some practical source.
One thing is certain, the guy that made that video should not try out for a job as a camera man...heh.
They say this product includes synthetic urea, deionized water, and proprietary additive package. Similar to motor oils the additive package is treated as proprietary.
Lets see... We're on the second API motor oil designed for diesel engines with DPF's (API CJ4 and now CK4) so why not an improved DEF fluid?
I can say that my truck has 197k miles and a bunch of idle hours and all I ever used was Peak Blue DEF and I've yet to have a DEF related issue that I know of but I think I'm going to give this a try. My interest is does this product reduce existing crystal build up? And will I be able to measure any improvement?- ksssExplorerAdded shelf life would be a benefit for me. We use it for heavy equipment as well as in pickups and we have to store it. We keep it pre staged where we need it. I try to keep it moving so it doesn't sit, keep it out of the sun and so forth, but it is a challenge at times.
