What would be the best way to do that...connect the incoming and outgoing ground wires together with a wire nut and from there have two wires going to the grounds on the EMS? All the same gauge wire I would think. Pardon my ignorance, trying to learn. :)
Maintain the same gauge of ground wire in the power cord entering and exiting the EMS by just splicing the green wires in the cable together. From the in/out ground wire splice, you could run the same gauge wire to the terminal or smaller but I would go with #14 min. and could be solid wire. Looking at your photo, you only need to connect to one of the terminals on the metal plate
With stranded wires, it's harder to get a really good connection under a wire "nut" connector and the type with a screw on the side is good for this. Pre-twisting the wires together and trimming the ends to the same length is good practice before installing a wire nut. Soldering the wires would be the best in this case, but not necessary.
Would a grounding block like this work? Green ground wire from the line/input side, green ground wire from the load/output side and then add a 10-gauge wire to screw down on one of the grounding screws inside the box.
