It shouldn't take any significant force. Take the pillows and bulky stuff off the bed, then remove the shepards pole and put it on the mattress. Pull the U shaped end support bar down onto the mattress and then fold the smaller half odf the mattress over the U-shaped bar and the shepards pole (sandwich them in the middle). At this point I always give the mattress a push to make sure it is as far forward - toward the outside edge of the door - as it will go to make closing the door easier. I think you may have the newer mattress that is thicker where it sits on the "shelf" but it should still have straps to buckle it to the door once you have folded it. Then go outside and close the door, taking care to make sure do canvas is caught in the seal. Any canvas pinched in those seals will cause a leak.
