Do you want more ground clearance, or lower overall height?
I think the C&C may have a lower overall height. You might try to find a lot with both and measure to the highest point on the PU frame, vs to the rails on the C&C. I think the C&C is lower but am not positive, plus it probably varies by brand. Also would need to check to see if licensing, insurance, financing (if used), etc is different between the two in your state. Pickup might be easier to deal with.
On the flipside, we gained more deck height than I planned for with the flatbed on our box delete, but the toolboxes under the bed are farther off the ground. With 20.5" of clearance below the boxes even with the camper and boxes fully loaded - I rarely have to worry about ground obstructions. And our height is right at 13', still lower than our 5er.
