(PS, at least I got almost 60k miles out of my 2016 Silverado 1/2 ton transmission...)
Can't expect much from a 3.42 trans you put oversized tires on.. On my 11 HO DRW I had 3.42's and on a grade it felt like the rear springs were twisting so I had to take off real easy and once rolling i gave it hell. It handled the 28-29K combined for 65k and the pan was nearly spotless at that mileage. You simply need to have that trans BUILT and then change out to 4.10's if you want to keep running oversized tires.
I think you're referring to the wrong 2016 truck....
The ole 68rfe mush box is looking pretty good at this point compared to my last 2 Chebbies now... She runs like a scalded cat still at 90k miles!
Although, technically you're correct, I did up size the tires on the 2016 Silverado to 265-70-17, from the factory 255s :E and it does actually have 3.42 gears, same ratio as the Dodge!
