Wow. That s a lot of dust in 2nd photo. Think i would prefer the less crowded top photo situation.
The windiest we have ever camped (in desert) was Chaco (52 mph winds and sleet in April) and up on Island in the Sky (Utah) where we had incesant 60 mph. Didn t bother us much in the popup truck camper with Weblon sidewalls.
The worst is camping in gale-force winds in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, during fire hose like rain, in the popup. Needed lots of towels to soak up water coming in from softwall seams on windward side of camper...
