Thanks for all your input. When I got the Northstar 850SC pop-up, I didn't know that there were 2 different roof lift systems, one for the standard 6'4" (or was it 5") height and a different one for the 6'11" interior height. The web site doesn't mention it, and no, I never thought about asking the dealer about that unknown option.. I'm still trying to decide between the Northstar 650SC popup and the hard wall Libery. The 650 SC can have either a rear or roof mounted AC. Both have small wet bathrooms and fairly small (20gl) fresh water tanks. The dealer has been very helpful so far and hopefully we can work out a satisfactory deal for both of us. No, there are not many low bridges here in Ontario, but I'll never forget that 9' bridge on a fast moving, busy 4 lane highway just West of Springfield, MA. That was quite a few years ago now, when we had the old 2500 series Bigfoot, now gone. The warning sign was some 100+ ft before the bridge. Slam the brakes, get into the right lane and turn off onto the service rd, before you hit that bridge. Lucky that service rd was there and that we didn't have an accident! That only happend once in over almost 40 years of truck camping, but it sure scared the living day light out of me and I'll probably never forget it.. I'm a vidow now so I have to manage on my own, but I still would like to do some more travelling, just in a smaller rig that I feel comfortable handling. I have a GMC 2500, CC, SB, 4x4, so it shouldn't have any problems with either camper weight wise. I do not camp off the beaten path, rest areas or Walmarts, etc (security reasons)but stay at fairly busy Private campgrounds, Provincial or State parks. If it looks too deserted, I wont stay there. I guess a hard side would also be safer than a pop-up, now that I think about it.
