Portable air conditioners?

I did this 2 years ago. I bought an 8000 btu, single hose to supplement our 13.5k. It works great. In my case, I didn't want to buy the bigger 15k so for $300 it was well worth it. No cooling problems at all even in direct sun in 90* high humidity with 32ft of living space. I also ran a separate 20 amp outside cord. When the weather is cool, I just leave it at home where I also use it sometimes.
