the micro air easy start will solve the starting issue, but not the altitude issue. with the micro air I can easily start the AC at 5,000ft, with the generator in eco mode, ramps up as the AC starts, but after about 20 minutes overloads. below 3000ft starts and runs it fine.
I'll see this summer if the honda 2200 with an extra 200VA output and a 20% larger engine will solve the altitude problem. the 20% larger engine with a 10% increase in output should result in the ability to provide rated output at a higher altitude than the 2000. But we shall see..
If, along with the micro air easy start, it works at 5-6K ft, it will be for me the ideal solution.
Waiting for your test results with baited breath :W
We will be camping at around 4500ft and likely high 90's for temperature in Mid July. That should be a good test for the new honda 2200.
At similiar conditions last summer I had zero problems starting the AC with the micro air even with eco mode on, smooth as silk starting, but it would eventually trip the overload. Sometimes the generator overload, more often the micro air would detect low voltage and trip it out. One other nice thing about the micro-air is that it will detect low voltage or frequency shift and kick out the AC, then after about 5-10 minutes do a restart.
