There are a lot of loyal Honda owners out there but I could never understand why people would buy TWO expensive smaller units, then hook them together to run their RV AC unit. I don't get it. My 3100si is quiet, reliable, and modestly priced and it runs everything with no problems.
You don't need to :W ... suffice it to say, Honda sells as many gensets as they can sell so obviously plenty of others do "get it". As I mentioned, for some it's a combination of promised long term reliability along with ready availability of parts and service by just visiting your local Honda or Yamaha dealer. :B
My reasons for two small generators
1) well, 95+% of the time I only need one small generator
2) 45lbs is much easier to lift than 100+ lbs
3) two generators total output is greater than the 3000
4) cost is virtually the same for two 2000's or 2200's vs honda 3000
I paid $950 each for 2 honda 2200's one for me, one for my brother. got them from the first shipment the dealer recieved. More than champions etc. but less than the cost of a 3000is and 3600W continous vs 2800.
Yes, the 3000 will give electric start and be slightly quieter.
Mine will be paired with my other 2000 IF I need it to power the AC with the micro-air. If it turns out that the 2200 will do the AC, the other 2000 will go on craigs list.
