For the Honda aficionados, nobody is bad mouthing your red machine, I dont think anyone is claiming its bad.
But just as the rest of the world has come to the realization that Toyotas last a fairly long time, and at 1/3 the cost of a Mercedes they can be a good deal for most folks, so too is the "other brand" generators.
I remember when Honda and the other Japanese brands were considered garbage, now they are well accepted, even preferred, Korean made brands like Hyundai are entering that stage now, and Chinese are just oner step behind in the process.
Champion, Harbor Freight, Westinghouse, and most of the rest use cloned copies of Honda and Yamaha designs for their engines, I had a Honda genny for 16 years, it was good, but a couple times I needed parts, Recoil starter for example, I replaced it with Chinese clone parts that lasted about 8 years,. Most of the small engine shops are used to dealing with the clones, and the sizes and parts are well known and documented, they are not hard to have serviced.
And even though your Red piece of heaven may last for a decade or more, a yellow one need only last half as long to still save an owner money due to price point. And who knows, if you dont still need it after 5 or 6 years, you saved even more.
Now as to whether or not it sings to a discriminating ear, some will never like any brand other than what they have, its as much human nature as Ford vs Chevy. You will never please everybody.
