The best buy I could find was at Harbor Frieght. They have a 2500watt inverter generator that provides a constant 2200watt source of power. It is compact, light weight and about $1,500 less than a Honda 2,000/1,800watt unit. I will be buying one between now and spring.
They seem to have it on sale all the time at $499. When I do buy it I will also get their buyer protection extra warranty that features a two year replacement feature if you have any problems with it. I figure if it is going to develop some major problem it will happen early on its' life and two years should cover it.
This unit offers the best $ to watt value currently out there.
Try a real percolator coffee pot to use on your gas range....low tech and needs no A/C power....
Zero watts and great coffee. The percolator coffee pot is hard to find in stores but many available on line and a lot cheaper to buy and feed than the new single cup overpriced coffee devices.
I currently use a Harbor Frieght portable generator that produces a constant 800watts of power. I use it to charge my Travel Trailer's battery when boondocking . It is very light weight, easy on gas and has proved to be very dependable. Considering it cost less than $100 (coupon sale price was $89) I could not be more satisfied !
Happy Camping!!!
