Good. Not off topic, your post said "What do you think? Am I crazy?". I responded to those questions. I understand a thread will drift off topic, but it should not to the point of being a hijack. The OP may take a thread off topic if they choose to do so.
As for TC construction and dry rot, I am partial to molded fiberglass. Minimal amount of wood, fewer seams to leak and overall less maintenance. My TC is a 1988, and I can't see where it would benefit from Carbon fiber reinforced polymer, rather than wood. I question many people would pay the added expense if given the choice.
