I firmly believe that a LOT of people would benefit significantly (health wise) from a sleep study and NEEDED follow up care.
That being said, I also believe that "defensive medicine" combined with "fad medicine" (it is real) has these treatments and machines being prescribed to (and tormenting) people who have a borderline need that could be treated with weight loss and other lifestyle changes (alcohol reduction, etc).
Unfortunately, the lawyers have a HUGE impact on all aspects of the practice of medicine.
That being said (disclosure), I am one who benefits daily (quality of life-day & night) by using a machine EVERY night.
