Didn't your friend's pickup come with an owner's manual? If so, the GM engineers have written a very complete guide to towing with a 3500HD. That is where I would get the information, even though forum members are all glad to make suggestions. I have towed a trailer similar to his with a 2500HD with a variety of hitches. The regular WD hitch was not needed. The Andersen might have improved the ride a little. Since I have my trailer properly loaded and in good mechanical condition, there is no tendency to sway. Believe me, I know what sway is since I have towed with a lot of 1500 and F-150 tow vehicles over the years.
