We can't find the plate in the trailer! How can we tell if it is not a power antenna? it looks like a wineguard we thought they were all power! We have heard of some being hidden in strange places!
From Winegard:
Question:
Have just acquired an RV with a Winegard batwing (Sensar) antenna that came supplied with it. I'm not sure if it has an amplifier in it, but reception is poor in some of the areas where we camp. How can I tell if my antenna is amplified or not?
Tech Tip:
To tell whether your antenna has an amplifier built into it, you will need to be able to get on the roof of the RV. If this is something that you can do safely and comfortably, then raise the antenna and find the “W” shaped hole in the bottom of the antenna housing. Look in this hole, you will find one of three things.1. Nothing or tiny little wire(s)2. A fairly large wire.3. A circuit board.
The first tells that you have a Non-amplified antenna. The other two are amplified.
