Thanks for the tip. Would that still be the case even though we are plugged in? I forgot to mention that while we haven't ran the awning in two months, we were always plugged into power at our home.

Be sure your battery is fully charged. Charge it while disconnected to the trailer and then try it. Also be sure there is enough water in the battery before charging.
