Power Jacks for Northstar Camper

How hard would it be to put power jacks on a 2010 Northstar Laredo SC. Is there any chance the wiring is already there for power jacks.

  • If they are like our Northstar Arrow you can see an aluminum panel under the back skirts of the camper, has about 8 screws in it, under the panels are all the wiring for the jacks, tail lights etc, you can take it off in a few minutes, but you have to run a bead of sealant to seal it up when you put it back on...

If you cannot see the little rectangular junction box on the outside of the back wall of the camper near your jacks you would have to drill out thru the back wall in the corner and run the wire out thru..install the junction box, the jack motor power wires plug together in these little junction boxes with the wires coming from the camper 12 VDC on the jack control board.

The jack wires are running from the jack control circuit board, this is fed from the batteries thru a breaker on the control board...

It would not be very hard to install if you like to do that kind of work..

You also need to run the little J-45 type cable/telephone jack for the remote, unless you have a wireless control board...
  • Pretty sure they are pre-wired. Call Rex at Northstar. 319-233-3461.

  • Do not have a build sheet and I do not see any ouside connectors on the camper. Will probably have to use the Happy jack up grade kit and fish the wires.
