Power Management System Issue

Here is my issue: When I am running the the Surge Protector/EMS directly off a 30-amp pedestal, I am almost always throwing a breaker, either inside or at the pedestal. But, if I dogbone down off the 50-amp, then EMS, I am not having any issues at all. Anybody else have the same experience?
  • 50A has heavier wiring and better voltage. On a 30A pedestal you should not exceed sustained 80 percent or 24A. Tripping breaker indicates you are at 30A and maybe a little less on 50A.
  • It doesn't happen at all campsites. Just wondering if this is safe to do on a regular basis. It seems to be working fine.
  • Hi,

If the breaker is tripping due to low voltage there may be gradual damage to the air conditioner motors. It behooves us all to monitor voltage.

I've added an autoformer so I'm good right down to 95 volts (possible 90--but I've not seen anything that low).

I'm not comfortable with the low voltage cut out on the current crop of surge devices.
