Pre DEF Cummins 8.3 problems?

oh man, the ISC's with the CAPS fuel system are a royal pain. That HPFP is very difficult to service. On our buses, they were so bad that when mileage was up and we had to re-power those vehicles, we just swapped-in ISL's with the commonrail XPS fuel injection system that Cummins uses. I thought the ISC's were largely retired in 2007 and Cummins only had the ISL from then on? Maybe that's just in the transit world and not so much the motorhome business.
