That's too bad to hear. We've had almost the exact opposite experience and when we were shopping around, I read nothing but positive reviews.
I'm not sure why people leave their units at a dealer while waiting for parts or to be fixed. If it were me, I'd throw some duct-tape or a tarp over the area and get out there camping until I was told it was ready. It doesn't usually take a place very long to make repairs - what 2 or 3 days for a big project.
Either way, I hope all your issues are behind you and you'll have a great time in it for years to come!
