Problem with motorized trailer dolly

The drive motor is a repurposed 12DC winch. The knob on the left in your pic should be the freespool mechanism. It should pull out and half turn to engage...

Look over the motor and see if you can find a nameplate. Get online documentation from there....

The drive sprocket is seated where the winch cable would be wound.

No brand name or model number you can google? That would be where I start.

wonder if the black knob on side is the engagement mechanism.. twist, push or pull...

yea that what i was thinking, Just hoping some one has one, This way ill know for sure what to fix..

nope no manual. Got it off craigs list. Nothing on youtube that i can fine about my problem
