That was the same reaction I had when I installed my Prodigy P3.
Just wondering - how come you got such a high end controller?
Well, frankly I was tearing my van apart. I have a small trailer, Skyline Nomad 173 and we tow it with a 2012 Nissan Quest.
I weight it at CAT last spring at 2400 pounds after I took off the spare and it was completely dry.
I got the controller on Amazon for 245 dollars as a Warehouse deal. I then complained right after it came that it was too used because someone installed it. But, I knew they just bolted it on because the other packages were still sealed. So for 235 bucks I got this bad boy.
I calculated that it's a 35 mile drive one way to the trailer's dealer. That means 2 cars have to go UP to the dealer and leave the van for them to fix and 2 cars have to go BACK. The van gets about 17 miles to the gallon. So I knew each trip would cost me something. Plus I'd have to give a saturday up or take a vacation day. They close before I get home.
I knew that if I bought from Amazon and it didn't work, I could send it back.
I had NO FAITH that the dealer could fix the HuskyTow brake controller, they didn't even releaze there was a Pulse feature on the brakes. Means they never tested it.
I have 2 small boys, if 235 bucks is the cost of safety, I'll pay it. Every dime.
Plus I did it myself and that's a good feeling!
