I seriously dislike those tail light converters. They are not powered at all...which means they are not circuit protected.
Get a Curt or Tow Ready or any other brand powered tail light converter and this problem goes away. And you will have BRIGHT Trailer tail lights that don't flicker or flash or go dim or anything else those others have.
The powered tail light converters use the TV tail light signal just to direct power. They converter sends power from the vehicles batter to the tail lights.
