ok, so, for the record, right up front I am not affiliated with Amazon or Dometic.... Since getting to my (or most any of your) propane tanks just to take them out to see how heavy they are is a PI...

I've been using the Dometic detector for over two years now. It's never let me down. Like others have said, put your empty hand on the bottle. Also, give the propane time to settle down when you first fill the tank before using the gauge.
