Propane level monitor

Can anyone suggestion good electric propane level monitor to be placed inside trailer. Ran out of gas this past weekend when it was 36 degrees. Magnetic strip monitor not reliable. Thought I had more gas than was actually available.

  • As others have said, best solution is two tanks with an auto changeover and keeping an eye on them.

Our Newmar has an electric sensor of some type that turns on a light over the vanity. It is totally unreliable, as our dealer pointed out. In cold weather when the furnaces (we have two) are running regularly it works great. In warmer weather it goes on and off at random. I have it covered up.
  • Poor hot water on your tank and run your hand over it. You feel exactly how much propane you have.

^^^ X2 ^^^ When the first tank runs out, it gets filled while operating on the second tank.

  • No reliable monitoring technology I am aware of. Though you have my understanding having ran out of LP twice. Brrr. An automatic switch over is one option but then you may have two empty tanks if you forget.
