always on for us, its never blown out, always stayed cold in the fridge
it's designed for that service, that's why fridges no longer run on 12 volt
I wouldn't bake a roast on the oven, keep the water heater on or run the furnace on the road but the fridge is designed for it
I do shut it off when refuelling, IIRC, that's required by law in many places as well as many ferries and tunnels
