I used to always leave the propane and fridge running while traveling. I have also found that at times the flame was extinguished due to air currents when traveling. We have the Dometic fridge and find that even after traveling for up to 5 hours the fridge held temperature sufficiently to keep the food cold and frozen with no ill effect. Therefore, it is not necessary to keep the propane on the the fridge running.
