propane tanks

Rear bumper seems very convenient for access and refill. I might mount a couple empties just to encourage tailgaters to back off a bit. Respect the bumper ;)

I’ve seen too many rear-ended RVs to put a propane tank on the back.

Propane cost varies a lot. During Winter even the more reasonable places go up to double or more in Winter.

I had my tanks filled a couple of years ago and had a hard time getting them to work consistently. Turns out I had gotten either a propane carrier or moisture build up. The generator sputtered, stove sputtered(most noticeable) and the furnace would cut off sometimes at night. Filling up didn’t fix it..

Not sure if it is a smart or not, but this worked. I put gloves on, turned the tanks upside down and opened the flat blade screw valve on each one until the liquid stopped flowing. Then I closed the screw.

Not all, but some suppliers with the big tanks for houses etc are remarkably cheaper during spring/summer. You won’t see their price on a typical sign of a place that does propance as a side business. Fwiw, they seem really quick with certifications (waving that charge with a fill up) and fill up while you wait if you are wondering.

I don't use a lot camping for spring or summer, but obviously, some do, so they can strap extra tanks on bumpers. :D
